Captain Michael: There was a time when I thought the secret to a better life was learning more.
Read another book.
Take another course.
There was a time when I thought the secret to a better life was learning more.
Read another book.
Take another course.
Listen to another expert.
And don't get me wrong—I still love learning.
But somewhere along the way I began to notice something.
Many of life's most important lessons weren't hidden. They weren't buried in a book or locked away behind some expert's paywall.
They were sitting right there in front of me all along.
The sunrise I was too busy to watch.
The conversation I was too distracted to hear.
The friend who was asking for help without ever saying the words.
The older I get, the less I believe wisdom comes from finding something new.
More often, it seems to come from finally paying attention to what has been there the whole time.
This week I'd like to explore that idea a bit.
The art of paying attention.
Have a great Saturday, my friends.
