Most people think a decision changes their course. Sometimes it does. But so does avoiding one. A ship without a destination still moves. A ship without a captain still drifts. And a day spent avoiding a choice is, itself, a choice. We’ve all done it. Put off the conversation. Delayed the project. Ignored the problem. Waited for certainty. Waited for motivation. Waited for the perfect time. Yet life keeps moving while we wait. The tide doesn’t stop. The clock doesn’t pause. The opportunity doesn’t remain exactly where we left it. One of the lessons age has taught me is that very few choices become easier because we postpone them. Most become heavier. The uncertainty lingers. The problem grows. The energy required to carry it increases. Tonight, there may be something you’ve been putting off. A call. A task. A decision. A first step. You don’t have to finish it. You don’t even have to solve it. But you might sleep better having begun. Fair winds, my friends. — Captain Michael #LifeWellLived #Choice #CourseCorrections #Stoicism #EveningReflection #CaptainMichael
