Good morning.
The first light is just beginning to soften the eastern sky.
There’s a little heat lightning dancing on the horizon. The howler monkeys have already announced the new day. And somewhere nearby, a dog seems determined to remind the whole anchorage that he’s awake.
Years ago, I might have wished for perfect silence.
These days, I think Rumi would smile and ask a different question.
“Can you still find peace?”
Not after the barking stops.
Not after the storm passes.
Not after life becomes everything you hoped it would be.
Now.
Peace isn’t the absence of noise.
It’s the quiet place within us that learns to welcome the morning exactly as it arrives.
May you find that place today.
Good morning, my friends.
