Good morning.
The coffee is hot.
The horizon is slowly trading darkness for light.
In another half hour, the sun will climb above the trees as if it has never failed to do so.
Rumi once asked,
“Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open?”
I’ve thought about that question for years.
Perhaps the prison isn’t a place.
Perhaps it’s an old regret we’ve carried too long.
A fear we’ve mistaken for wisdom.
A story we’ve kept telling ourselves because it’s become familiar.
The remarkable thing is this:
The door doesn’t have to be forced open.
It has been open all along.
Maybe this morning is a good day to take one step through it.
Good morning, my friends.
Let’s see what freedom looks like today.
