We learned that trusting yourself does not mean believing you are always right.
It means having the courage to listen honestly, think deeply, change when necessary, and still take responsibility for the course you choose.
We walked through forests.
We stood alone on high ground.
We considered character, purpose, work, success, and the strange freedom that comes when we stop measuring our lives against someone else’s.
And now we find ourselves back at the harbor.
Perhaps that is the finest thing about a good journey.
