I grew up in Shelby County, East Texas.
Now, Shelby County isn’t exactly West Texas desert country. We averaged somewhere around 50–54 inches of rain a year. Growing up, I considered that a pretty wet place.
Then I moved aboard a sailboat in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
Bocas gets somewhere around 140 inches of rain a year.
Put another way:
🌧️ Shelby County: about 4½ feet of rain a year.
🌧️ Bocas del Toro: about 12 feet.
Nearly three times as much.
So when you see a video like this and wonder whether it’s been raining all morning…
Maybe.
Or this could just be Tuesday. 😂
