But I caught myself smiling afterward because there was a time when I would have spent half the afternoon defending my first decision simply because I’d already made it.
Getting older has cured me of some of that.
I’ve discovered that changing your mind doesn’t always mean you were wrong.
Sometimes it simply means you know something now that you didn’t know this morning.
That’s reason enough for me.
The dishes are done, the harbor is settling down, and I think I’ll call that a pretty good day.
