It’s been one of those lazy, rainy Sundays when the weather seems perfectly happy for everyone to stay put.
So I’ve decided the appropriate response is to cook something that takes longer than it needs to. 😊
Something warm.
Something that makes the boat smell wonderful.
Something you keep wandering back to the stove to taste, even though you know perfectly well it isn’t ready yet.
I’ve always thought comfort food was an interesting name for it.
Sometimes we’re not particularly in need of comforting.
Sometimes it’s simply nice to make something slowly, eat too much of it, and be grateful there’s nowhere else you need to be.
The rain is tapping on the boat.
Dinner is taking its sweet time.
And I think I’ll let both of them carry on. 💛
