Good Tuesday morning, my friends.
There’s a reason we sometimes keep pouring long after we have enough.
We’re afraid of running out.
Money.
Food.
Time.
Opportunity.
Security.
Even love.
Scarcity has a powerful voice.
It whispers:
Better get a little more.
Better hold onto that.
You might need it someday.
And sometimes that voice is useful. Prudence matters. Preparation matters. I’ve spent enough time around boats to know that running out of something important at the wrong moment can ruin your whole day. 😂
But there’s a difference between being prepared and living afraid of empty.
One says:
I have what I need.
The other says:
I can never have enough.
That’s a vessel with no fill line.
Maybe part of understanding enough is learning to trust what we’ve already gathered.
Our experience.
Our abilities.
Our relationships.
Our resilience.
The knowledge that if tomorrow asks something difficult of us, we’ve probably got more in the locker than we realize.
Preparation fills the vessel.
Fear keeps pouring.
This morning, maybe take inventory before reaching for more.
You might already have enough.
Fair winds, my friends. ☕⚓
