Good evening, my friends. There’s another funny thing we do once we’ve gathered enough. We start guarding it. We work hard to build some security. Then worry about losing it. We collect possessions. Then spend time maintaining, storing, insuring, and protecting them. We build a reputation. Then become careful not to do anything that might disturb it. We finally create a comfortable life… and sometimes become afraid to leave it. Funny, isn’t it? We spend years filling the vessel so we’ll have the freedom to live. Then occasionally end up serving the vessel. Maybe that’s another test of enough. Does what we’ve accumulated give us greater freedom? Or has maintaining it quietly become another obligation? Security should let us breathe easier. Possessions should serve a purpose. Success should open doors. Experience should give us confidence to walk through them. The things we’ve gathered along the way ought to help us live our lives. Our lives shouldn’t become devoted to keeping the vessel full. Every now and then, it might be worth asking: Do I own this… or does it own a little piece of me? Fair winds and a peaceful evening, my friends. ⚓ #Enough, #Freedom, #Perspective, #SimpleLiving, #IntentionalLiving, #Contentment, #LetGo, #LifeLessons, #MindfulLiving, #TuesdayEvening, #FairWinds
