I’ve said it.
You’ve probably said it.
We all say it.
But I’m beginning to wonder if it’s ever
“I don’t have time.”

But I’m beginning to wonder if it’s ever really true.
We don’t have time in the first place.
We can’t put an hour aside and retrieve it later.
We can’t save Tuesday for when we’re less busy.
And despite what my calendar occasionally tries to convince me, tomorrow isn’t sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for delivery. 😂
There is only this peculiar little moving point we call Now.
Everything we’ve ever done happened there.
Every person we’ve ever loved, we loved there.
Every decision.
Every mistake.
Every laugh.
Every ordinary cup of coffee.
All of it happened in a moment that once called itself Now.
Maybe when we say, “I don’t have time,” what we really mean is:
I’m choosing to give this moment to something else.
That sounds a little different.
Because suddenly time isn’t something being taken from us.
Attention is something we’re giving away.
And perhaps that’s the real currency of a well-lived life.
Not how many years we get.
But what we give our attention to while we’re here.
So this morning, maybe the question isn’t:
Do I have time?
Maybe it’s:
What deserves this moment?
