What is actually happening?
Not what should be happening.
Not what you hoped would happen.
Not what would be happening if everything had gone according to plan.
What is true right now?
Then comes the next question:
What can I do about it?
Maybe a lot.
Maybe very little.
But there’s almost always a next useful action.
Find it.
Do it.
Then look around again.
That’s how you get a boat home.
That’s how you get through a bad day.
And I suspect that’s how you build most things worth building.
