Good Tuesday morning.
There is a difference between changing the plan and abandoning the purpose.
We sometimes confuse adaptability with weakness. We admire the fellow who plants his feet, refuses to bend, and stays the course no matter what happens.
But staying the course is not always the same as reaching the destination.
A sailboat may have a clear destination and still spend much of the passage pointed somewhere else. The wind shifts. The current changes. The direct route becomes unavailable.
So she tacks.
The heading changes. The destination does not.
That is not indecision. It is seamanship.
The same is true in life.
We can remain committed to what matters while changing how we pursue it. We can revise the schedule without surrendering the goal. We can abandon a method that no longer works without betraying the reason we began.
Rigidity protects the plan.
Adaptability protects the purpose.
The strongest human being in the room is not always the one who refuses to move. Sometimes it is the one who recognizes that the old approach no longer serves the mission—and adjusts without wasting time defending it.
Hold firmly to your values.
Hold clearly to your purpose.
But keep a looser grip on the route.
The wind may have shifted this morning.
That does not mean the destination is lost.
