Mother’s Day means something different to me now than it once did.
At this point in my life, motherhood is no longer just about sacrifice.
It is about survival. Healing. Growth. Boundaries. Grace. Accountability. And learning how to love without losing myself in the process.
I have walked through pain that tried to harden me.
I have survived trauma, heartbreak, disappointment, fear, loneliness, and seasons where I questioned my own worth.
There were moments I felt emotionally exhausted, unseen, and broken in ways words cannot fully explain.
But I kept going.
I kept loving.
I kept protecting.
I kept showing up.
Even while healing parts of myself nobody else could see.
Motherhood taught me strength — but not the kind people glorify.
Not perfection.
Not having all the answers.
Not pretending everything is okay.
Real strength.
The kind that gets up anyway.
The kind that apologizes and grows.
The kind that breaks cycles.
The kind that learns softness after surviving hardness.
The kind that keeps choosing love even after experiencing pain.
Today, I honor the version of me that survived.
I honor the mother in me.
I honor the little girl in me that still needed love too.
And I honor every woman out there doing her best with the tools, understanding, and emotional weight she carries.
To the mothers healing while parenting…
To the women grieving relationships…
To the single moms…
To the bonus moms…
To the pet moms…
To the women who mother everyone around them…
To the daughters becoming better women than the generations before them…
I see you.
Motherhood is not perfection.
