Walking those woods again as an adult felt strangely familiar and completely different at the same time.
The forest had grown wild in my absence.
Paths faded.
Clearings reclaimed.
Young trees rising where sunlight finally found its way through.
And yet beneath all that change, the old bones of the place remained.
The creek still moved quietly through the hardwoods.
The big oak still stood watch.
The evening light still filtered through the trees the same way I remembered as a child.
It reminded me that life is constantly changing us, whether we notice it or not.
Some parts of us become overgrown.
Some parts lie dormant for years.
And sometimes returning to old places helps us rediscover pieces of ourselves we thought were gone.
Maybe growth is not always becoming something new.
Sometimes it is remembering who we were before the world became so loud.
