Out here, confidence is useful.
Arrogance is dangerous.
Weather changes.
Currents shift.
Charts lie.
Forecasts miss.
Equipment fails.
And sometimes the smartest thing a captain can say is:
“I need to reconsider.”
Strange how much suffering in life comes from people defending positions long after reality has changed around them.
