Good morning. I've noticed something over the years. Most people don't listen to understand. They listen to reply. The difference is subtle, but it changes everything. When we're focused on what we're going to say next, we miss half of what the other human being is trying to tell us. A friend's concern. A spouse's frustration. A child's excitement. A colleague's uncertainty. The words matter. But often it's the things between the words that tell the real story. The pause. The hesitation. The change in tone. The thing left unsaid. Paying attention isn't just about noticing what's happening around us. It's about noticing what's happening within the people we care about. The older I get, the more convinced I become that listening is one of the simplest forms of respect. And one of the rarest. Maybe today, instead of trying to be interesting, we can try being interested. Have a great Wednesday, my friends. #LifeWellLived #Attention #WednesdayMorning #SimpleThings
