Captain Michael: One of the easiest mistakes a sailor can make is assuming that because the boat is moving, it’s moving in the right dire
One of the easiest mistakes a sailor can make is assuming that because the boat is moving, it’s moving in the right direction.
Progress and direction are not the same thing.
You can work hard and still be headed somewhere you never intended to go.
You can stay busy and still neglect what matters most.
You can be making excellent time on the wrong course.
That’s why good sailors check their heading.
Not once.
Repeatedly.
They compare where they are to where they intended to be.
Then they make whatever corrections are needed.
Life deserves the same attention.
Every now and then, it’s worth asking:
Am I becoming the human being I want to become?
Am I investing time in what matters most?
Am I moving toward my purpose, or merely staying busy?
These questions aren’t meant to discourage us.
They’re meant to guide us.
Course corrections are not admissions of failure.
They’re evidence that we’re paying attention.
This morning, before the day gathers momentum, take a moment to check your heading.
A small correction made today may save a very long journey tomorrow.
Fair winds, my friends.
