A friend who was receiving too many fraudulent airdrops to his Phantom address decided to create a new address and transfer his funds to it. But it turns out that Phantom may assign previously used addresses when creating a new one. He ended up with an address that had already been compromised, and when he made the transfer, he instantly lost all his crypto—several thousand dollars.
